The field trips will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, with return on the same day or on Saturday, November 2, 2025, depending on the selected trip. The meeting and return point will be the Institute of Geosciences at UFRR, located at Av. Capitão Ene Garcez, 2413 – Aeroporto, Boa Vista – RR, 69304-000.
Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmation will be sent by email, and payment must be made directly on the event platform.
The registration fee includes transportation, snacks during the trip, and learning materials. Please note that participants should be aware of the physical conditions required to take part in field activities.
IMPORTANT: Registration for the field trip is not linked to registration for the main event. Therefore, you must register separately for the symposium.

Context: Roraima displays an extensive geological record of the Orosirian tectonics that built the central-northern portion of the Amazonian Craton. From north to south, a geological section sequentially exposes sedimentary rocks, volcanoplutonic systems, and metamorphic rocks of varying grades, all formed during the Orosirian and exceptionally well exposed. This four-day itinerary proposes a transect across the state’s main geological structures, from Uiramutã to the central Roraima ranges — between roughly 4.60° N and 1.75° N — traversing rocks of the Roraima Supergroup, the Orocaima, Cauarane–Coeroeni and Rio Urubu belts, and the Uatumã SLIP.

Context: Extending from Guyana to the northwest of the state of Roraima in Brazil, the Tacutu Basin comprises a set of rocks of great interest: it provides a rare Amazonian record of a time interval (Jurassic–Cretaceous) marked by remarkable tectonic activity that led to the breakup of Pangea and the concomitant formation of the Central Atlantic, and it holds a rich and diverse fossil record of Earth’s history. Moreover, it qualifies as a petroleum system, with records of oil and gas indicating high economic potential of its probable reserves. In this context, the goal of this field trip is to provide participants with an overview of the tectonostratigraphic and paleontological framework of the outcropping units in the Brazilian portion of the basin, through guided visits to its main outcrops.
